1976
From the experience of a group of professors and young engineers from the Polytechnic of Turin, in December 1976 H.C. Hydrodataconsult was founded. The company’s team immediately developed diversified and multidisciplinary skills: from engineering services, to studies and research in the hydrological-hydraulic-environmental field, to technical-economic and organizational consultancy.

With the drafting of the Hydrogeological Plan for the Toce river basin, the collaboration with the Piedmont Region in the field of planning and management of water resources was born.
1970s - 1980s
Hydrodata develops SIMPO projects, relating to the multi-use regulation of the Po, river arrangement for flood protection and navigation of inland waters.

The Models and Measurements Laboratory was established, which operates on the entire field of hydrological, hydrogeological and water quality monitoring.

Hydrodata becomes a consultant for Autostrade per l’Italia in the field of the design of hydraulic works and geotechnical-structural interventions necessary to protect infrastructures on a national scale.
1986
Hydrodata begins its collaboration with ENEL S.p.A., with hydraulic studies and surveys for the construction of the Trino V. (VC) nuclear power plant.
1988
With the study on the evaluation of the effects due to artificial floods or consequent to a hypothetical collapse of the dams in the Orco valley, the collaboration with the Municipal Energy Company of Turin – AEM S.p.A. was established.

1991
Hydrodata becomes a permanent partner of DHI (Danish Hydraulic Institute), a world leader in applied research and implementation-dissemination of codes for hydro-informatics simulation.
1999
Hydrodata becomes a member of OICE-Confindustria.

1996
With the Preliminary Study for the development and implementation of the Regional Plan of Hydroelectric Resources of the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta, it started the collaboration with the Compagnia Valdostana Acque – C.V.A. S.p.A.
1999
Hydrodata intensifies its activities in the hydroelectric sector, working for the main national players and for self-producers: revamping of plants, assistance with authorisation paths, due diligence and support for Merger & Acquisition activities.

Hydrodata, through its main shareholder INTECNO, joins the structure of MAIRA S.p.A.

Hydrodata collaborates with the Piedmont Region, in collaboration with the East Sesia Irrigation Association, for an integrated management strategy and multiple use of the resource, with projects for artificial reservoirs and related dams (in Val Mastallone, on the Strona di Briona, on the Maira) and with master planning operations in the Baltea-Sesia-Ticino and south-western Piedmont territorial districts.
2000-2023
Hydrodata begins to collaborate and support, in the field of integrated water services, ATOs and operators in the preparation of business plans, area plans and economic-financial plans, in the definition and evolution of tariffs, as well as in management schemes.
2002
Hydrodata develops surveys and studies aimed at the preparation of the Water Protection Plan of the Piedmont Region.
2003
The collaboration with the Piedmont Region (later ARPA Piemonte) for the management of the instrumental hydrometric monitoring network and the production of daily hydrometric bulletins and regional hydrological annals begins.
2005
Hydrodata begins its collaboration with Tirreno Power S.p.A. in the management of its reservoirs.
Over the years it has designed for Maira S.p.A., it builds and manages, with a view to generating and effectively managing externalities for the benefit of the local community, 3 hydroelectric plants in the Maira Valley (about 5MW installed).
2007
An important collaboration with SMAT (Società Metropolitana Acque Torino) begins for the aqueduct of the Susa Valley: preliminary, definitive and executive design of the aqueduct adduction backbone between Bardonecchia and the gates of the metropolitan area of Turin.
2010
SINA S.p.A. appoints Hydrodata for studies and final design of the hydraulic works relating to the road and rail access to the bridge over the Strait of Messina.

Hydrodata collaborates with the Municipality of Milan for the revision of the geological, hydrogeological and seismic component, for the adaptation of the hydrographic network and for the adaptation of the PGT to the Flood Risk Management Plan.

Hydrodata has been awarded the tender for the spillway project on the Bisagno stream in Genoa for the Liguria Region.
The collaboration with Acquedotto Pugliese for the adaptation and districtualisation of the water network in Puglia begins.
